Austin Creative Revival is back, with a new theme: “creative roots.”
The event will take place at Austin’s downtown Austin Art Museum from 7 p.m. to 10 p., with special guests including artists and writers from the Austin Chronicle, the Austin American-Statesman, and the Austin Daily Express.
This is the third annual Austin Creative Roots & Codes, and Austin Creative Summit has been taking place for the past two years, with events held at the University of Texas at Austin and in other cities.
The original Creative Roots in 2008 and Creative Summit in 2011 were both held at SXSW, and now, Creative Roots will be held at Austin Art Gallery in partnership with the University Archives of Austin and the Center for Austin History.
This is a collaboration between Austin Creative Alliance and the University Arts Archives.
The festival’s theme is creative renewal, and attendees will be invited to “explore the history and future of Austin as a creative city.”
The event is free and open to the public, but the event page includes a $10 donation to the Austin Creative Residency Fund, and proceeds will be donated to the UT Austin Arts and Humanities Research Fund.
We are thrilled to be joining Austin Creative Renaissance, and to be a part of this historic event.
