Creativity and self-expression are two words that conjure up images of a well-organized group of creative people working on something great.
That’s because those two things are so intertwined.
The way that creativity and self work together can make for a great team.
“I’m constantly looking at the way that people are coming together and thinking about how to create a new piece, or how to come up with something that doesn’t exist yet,” says Zap Creative Circle, a Philadelphia-based art collective.
“The way that they’re collaborating is really important.
They’re all working together and it’s really important to have people working together in a collaborative way.”
And that’s what Zap is all about.
The Collective is an umbrella organization that’s made up of creative artists, animators, writers, illustrators, sculptors, and other artists and designers in various disciplines.
Each one of them has their own unique style, which they use to create new and innovative works of art.
They do this by working together as a collective, sharing their ideas and inspiration and making something that they believe in.
That means creating a piece of art that is a collaboration, not a competition.
Zap’s creative director, Laura Tannenbaum, has been doing this for over a decade.
“We started out as a small group of artists in New York, working on things we thought were fun and we’d love to do a show about, like our favorite artworks and we started to get a lot of people coming to our show,” she says.
“So, when we started this, I was a little nervous because I thought maybe it’s not going to work out.”
That’s when she got a phone call from a friend from the creative scene, who told her that she was in luck.
“This is a really exciting time to be working with creative people,” Tannensbaum says.
It’s a great opportunity to learn from one another.
“They don’t really think about their art as art or the craft of the craft but the people that make it,” she explains.
“That was the key to my relationship with the people at Zap.
I knew they were really good at this and they knew that I was interested in them and I was open to their ideas.”
The Collective works in collaboration with some of the top artists in the world, including Marc Jacobs, Domenico Dolce, Peter Cappuccio, Mark Rothko, and many more.
But, to Tannesbaum, it’s also a place where the people in charge of the collective are able to come together and have their say.
“There’s always someone out there who wants to help you out or someone who is a good listener or someone is just super cool.
That helps keep things interesting,” she notes.
“And it helps you keep coming back to work and to get better and better at your craft.
It keeps people motivated to get out there and make more of their work.”
In addition to making a show, the Collective also helps artists create their own artworks.
“People get really excited when they see a new artwork, and that’s why I always want to create something new,” Tans says.
Some of the more popular works from the Collective are some of their most popular ones, such as “The Last of Us: Part Two” and “The Black Widow.”
These are works that were made before the game even launched and they are still being made, so they’re really fun to create.
Tans even got a chance to do some of these for the first time last year, and she says it was very exciting.
“It was really fun,” she tells me.
“You’re getting your own voice and your own vision in there.
You’re doing it in a way that feels authentic, which I think is really cool.
It also makes it a little bit more personal, because I feel like people really relate to you.”
It’s important to note that Zap doesn’t just make artwork.
The collective also creates books and other interactive content that is geared towards people who are interested in making their own content and for people who want to connect with the collective and learn from its members.
“Every week, we do something new that has a different theme,” Tanners says.
They also have a large collection of printmaking and art supplies, as well as a large library of comics and graphic novels.
“Our members are creative artists,” Tants explains.
It all makes for a fun time and it also keeps the collective fresh and connected to the creative community.
“A lot of the artists we work with are so talented,” she adds.
“Some of them have a lot more experience than we do, so it’s great that we get to work with them.
We get to make some amazing work together.”
Zap has a strong, diverse membership.
Its members include a variety of creative types, from artists to artists with other backgrounds,
