Creative Journal, the publisher of the “Book of Life,” announced Monday that the $1.6 million book will be priced at $30, which is roughly 50 cents more than the current price of “The Book of Life.”
“The Book has been described as a work of art that has been the subject of much debate over the years, but we hope the public will take this as an opportunity to understand how a book is created,” said the publisher, which was founded in 2002.
“We want to celebrate the work of artists and writers across our diverse country, and we think the public can benefit from a deeper understanding of what it is like to create something, and how it connects to us all.”
The “Book” will be published by HarperCollins, which has a long history of publishing books from authors like Thomas Pynchon and Neil Gaiman.
The book’s publisher, William Morrow, said in a statement that the price was “a reflection of the value the book will bring to the marketplace and our mission of promoting literature, including poetry and poetry-making.”
The book will also be available at Amazon, where it has been on sale for more than two months.
